The SodaPup Flower eBowl is one of the best slow feeder dog bowls for medium and large breeds — and large-breed puppies — that need to eat more slowly to prevent bloat and digestive issues — a USA-made, FDA-compliant TPE bowl that slows eating by up to 10x, reducing the risk of gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV/bloat) and delivering daily mealtime mental stimulation. Veterinarian-recommended for fast eaters and anxious dogs. Note: at 2" deep, this bowl is best suited for medium and large dogs with normal snout length. Why Slow Feeders Prevent Bloat — and Why the Flower Pattern Excels for Medium and Large Dogs

Eating too fast causes dogs to swallow excess air, which can lead to gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV/bloat) — a dangerous, potentially fatal condition in which the stomach fills with gas and may twist. Even in dogs that never develop full GDV, fast eating causes chronic digestive discomfort, gas, regurgitation, and poor nutrient absorption. Slow feeder bowls reduce eating speed by up to 10x, addressing all of these issues and converting every meal into a calm, cognitively stimulating foraging session.

The Flower eBowl's petal-shaped ridge maze is particularly well-suited for medium and large dogs, as well as large-breed puppies that are big enough to comfortably reach the 2" depth. The rounded petal geometry creates food pockets that are engaging but not overly difficult, making it an ideal introductory enrichment bowl. For large-breed puppies, using a slow feeder from the first meal establishes a healthy, deliberate eating pace that can prevent bloat and digestive problems throughout their lifetime. If you have a small dog, small puppy, or a flat-faced/brachycephalic breed, we recommend one of our shallower eTray options instead.
